Fire Relief Produce Voucher Program
What is it?
After the Eaton Fire, in January 2025, the AFM started providing free produce to fire survivors. A few months later, we decided to create a more organized and effective system, the would allow us to optimize our capacity, budget management, waste reduction and the community’s experience when receiving the free produce. From that initiative, the Voucher Program was created. In July 2nd, 2025, we had our first distribution event through the Voucher system.
Eaton Fire survivors can register through the program through our website. Once registered, they have to claim a Voucher before each distribution. Even though the number of vouchers are limited, we’ve been able to provide over 4,700 Fire Relief Free Produce Vouchers so far.
Who is eligible
Households and/or individuals who were living in the most impacted zip codes the Eaton Fire happened are eligible to register with the Free Produce Voucher Program. However, only one registration per household is permitted.
How to claim a Voucher
Once registered, you will age able to claim a voucher before every distribution event through your account. Vouchers are released at certain days, but in limited amount. They go really fast. so follow our program calendar and claim your voucher as soon as they are released. Only one voucher is allowed per household. If all free vouchers are sold-out, registered participants still have the option to purchase the $30 Voucher, which gets you the same $55 value, but for only $30.
How to register
That’s done through the registration links in this website: Click on the “Register Here” link, then will be asked for the zip code you were living at when the fire happened. If the provided zip code is eligible you will be taken to the next screen where you can complete your registration.
How to redeem your Voucher
If you claimed a voucher successfully, you will receive a confirmation email. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t find it inbox. The confirmation email will contain date, time and address of the next distribution event, where you can redeem your voucher for a bag/box of filled with farm fresh fruits and veggies.. Sometimes even eggs, flowers, artisanal bread and other items. Please make sure to bring your ID, or provide a picture of it to whoever is picking up for you.

After a very successful year, the Fire Relief Free Produce Voucher Program is getting ready to shift to its next phase.
What does that mean?
Starting on 07/02, all participants will have register to Phase 2, just like they did for Phase 1. Why?
1. As for right now, many accounts have incorrect email addresses and phone numbers, and because of that lots of people aren’t receiving confirmation email, pick-up instructions, pick-up reminders and important updates.
2. We will need to collect additional details to help us understand each participant level of need. While we’re all deeply impacted by the Eaton Fire, still navigating the lengthy recovery process, and deserving of healthy food access, demand is a lot higher than what we’re capable to fulfill. We hope to be able to prioritize those who need it the most, but also give those who haven’t received as much assistance as others, a chance to participate.
The mini-survey everyone needs to take when claiming a voucher will be slightly modified, allowing us to stay compliant with new reporting requirements and have a better understanding of any challenges, limitations or additional needs that might be present. That will help us improve everyone’s experience and potentially bring extra resources to offer.

-We will be running the program all the way to the end of 2026.
-80 additional vouchers will be available each month.
-Vouchers will be released in batches, at different times and days of the week, to give everyone a fair chance to claim it.

Both the free and the $30 voucher include about $55 in market value of farm fresh fruits and veggies, about 10-12 different items, coming directly from local farms. Sometimes artisanal bread and/or farm fresh eggs as well.

You can send someone on your behalf! They just need to provide YOUR name and a picture or copy of YOUR ID at the check-in table. Please note: As for now we aren’t able to store any produce for a later pick-up. Produce not picked by our closing time (3:30pm), will be donated.

No! You only need to register one time for each phase of Voucher Program. Please note: The current phase is completing a year and ending in 07/01. On 07/02 the next phase begins and to participate you will have to register again. And, you do have to claim a new voucher before each distribution.
